The Kings Mountain Police Department currently has (4) K-9 officers attached within each Patrol Squad. KMPD K-9’s receives extensive training in the field of narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, tracking, and article detection. Our K-9 teams obtain a yearly certification through the Police, Military and Professional Working Dog Standards. K-9 teams also conduct at minimum (16) hours of maintenance training each month to ensure that our K-9 teams are always ready when called upon.
