Welcome to the City of Kings Mountain!

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has started construction on both downtown railroad crossings. Both crossings are required to be closed at the same time for vehicular traffic in order to work on one side of track while leaving the other track open for train traffic. The project is to be complete on or before August 31, 2015. We apologize for the inconvenience as we improve the safety and beauty of our downtown crossings.

We take pride in being one of the most livable cities in America. Neighbors benefit from exceptional medical facilities, vibrant neighborhood business districts, and a solid network of parks, community centers, and libraries.

With a strong economy, safe streets and a diverse workforce, Kings Mountain is poised for continued success in fostering new enterprise throughout the city.

From public safety to fire protection, Kings Mountain has become a model of community policing and problem solving. Kings Mountain is committed to a balanced strategy of prevention, intervention and enforcement.
